Step‑By‑Step Instructions

Step 1 — Prepare the Back Panel

Step 1 - Prepare back panel

Glue two 1×6 boards edge‑to‑edge to create a 12" wide panel. Clamp flat and allow to dry, then sand smooth. ½" plywood cut to 16" × 12" also works well.

Step 2 — Cut and Sand All Parts

Step 2 - Cut and sand parts

Cut side rails, shelves, front rails, and mounting strip to final size. Lightly break edges and sand all parts to 120–220 grit.

Step 3 — Attach the Side Rails

Step 3 - Attach side rails

Position side rails flush with the left and right edges of the back panel. Apply glue and secure from the back with brad nails or screws.

Step 4 — Install the Shelves

Step 4 - Install shelves

Mark shelf locations: 3" down from the top for the first shelf, then 6" between shelves. Glue shelf ends and fasten through the side rails.

Step 5 — Add the Front Rails

Step 5 - Add front rails

Rip 1" wide front rails and mount them about 1" above each shelf surface. Glue and pin nail into the side rails.

Step 6 — Mounting Strip & Hardware

Step 6 - Mounting strip

Attach a mounting strip across the back near the top. Add either routed keyholes or a French cleat for secure wall mounting.
